What is a Documentation Consultant?

This role involves checking and putting together all the itinerary, tickets and vouchers for a client when they have made a holiday booking.

What does a Documentation Consultant do?

This is usually more of an entry level position where they learn the ground work of what is involved in a reservations position. This role is administrative and involves co-ordination of paperwork. They receive all the bookings via a computer system and are required to double check the traveller’s itinerary to make sure dates and rooming as well as flights all match up. They then create a written itinerary and collect all the necessary airline tickets or vouchers and package them together and send them out to the traveller or travel agency. Occasionally they will be required to track down lost paperwork or change or re-issues documents.

What does it take to be successful?

Excellent attention to detail, good organisation skills and the ability to work to deadlines. This role is usually based within a team, so the documentation consultant will need to be able to work well in a team environment and liaise with other departments when required.
