TICA Launches New Careers Website

The Travel Industry Careers Association (TICA) officially launched their new website (www.travelindustrycareers.org) on Wednesday, which provides an information resource to people interested in joining the travel industry.

The new website which features the enticing slogan, “If you love travel, then why not make a career out of it”, identifies the many diverse opportunities that exist in the travel sector.

The website offers potential newcomers to the travel industry the answers to some of their more burning questions about the industry, such as:  Why travel and tourism? How do I get into the industry? What career paths are their in the industry? And what education and training do I need?

TICA Chairman, Mandy Scotney said that even though the economic crisis has negatively affected the number of employment opportunities currently available in the travel sector, “we can’t put our head in the sand and focus on the short term, we need to think long term.”

She estimated that around 320,000 people would be needed to fill travel and tourism roles in the next ten years and that it is her company’s vision to encourage people to join and remain in the travel industry.
