TICA announces student membership

Tuesday Jan 27, 2009

As part of the Travel Industry Careers Associations quest to attract and retain people to a career in the travel industry. TICA announces that it will offer a new membership category for students studying Travel & Tourism.

This initiative will be rolled out across TAFE institutes within the NSW region and later will be available to all colleges and universities offering courses in Travel & Tourism.

Each student member will benefit from participation in the activities of the association, meet member professionals already working in the field and gain work experience and/or ongoing employment.

The other benefits are:

  • Increased knowledge of the profession, which will help to decide which sector the student would prefer to work in.
  • Remain up-to-date with developments in the sector/area of interest.
  • Meet other students from educational institutions who share similar interests and career goals.
  • Develop vocation skills through participation in professional development activities including workshops, seminars, site visits, employer functions, etc.
  • Find out about vacation work, co-operative and work experience placements.
  • Career advice on how to secure that first job.

Membership applications can be downloaded from our website or for further information please contact TICA’s executive officer on E: [email protected]
